Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 27, 2026
1. Data controller
The controller of the data collected through SliceSheet is 16bit Srl. For any privacy matter you can write to hello@16bit.it. Full details are at the bottom of this page.
2. What data we process
The service requires no sign-up: we do not collect names, passwords or user profiles. We process:
• the files you upload and their content, including versions and the preview data needed to display the sheet;
• technical information about the sheet (name, format, and any source link for automatic refresh);
• the dates of the last client-side and management access, used to apply retention rules;
• technical browsing data (e.g. IP address and server logs) needed for operation and security.
3. Purposes and legal basis
We process this data to provide the service you request (legal basis: performance of the contract) and to ensure its security and correct operation (legitimate interest). We do not use the data for profiling or marketing.
4. Third-party data you upload
If the files you upload contain other people’s personal data, you remain the controller of that data: we process it on your behalf, as a processor, solely to provide the service. You must have a legal basis to upload and share it.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep a sheet’s data while its link stays active. A link, with all related files and versions, is deleted automatically when it is not opened by the recipient for more than 90 days, or when it receives no updates and no management access for more than 90 days.
You can also delete a sheet at any time from the management panel: deletion permanently removes files, versions and links.
6. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and do not disclose it to third parties for their own purposes. To run the service we rely on hosting and infrastructure providers acting as processors, who handle data only on our behalf.
If you enable automatic refresh from an external link (e.g. Synology, Google Sheets or Google Drive), the file is downloaded from that service according to your settings.
7. Your rights
Within the limits of the GDPR you have the right to access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing, and request portability. You can exercise these rights by writing to the contacts provided. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
8. Cookies
We use only technical cookies necessary for the service to work (for example, for the session and form protection). We do not use profiling or third-party tracking cookies.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always published on this page, with the last-updated date.
